Visitation will be on Monday, Dec 1 from 5 to 7PM at Indiana Funeral Care, Indianapolis. Funeral service will be Tuesday, Dec 2 at 11AM, with visitation beginning at 10AM, at St. James Lutheran Church, Lafayette.

Helen Louise Toman, 82 of Indianapolis passed away peacefully at home on November 25. Helen was born in Lafayette, IN on April 20, 1932, the youngest child of Gilbert and Katherine Shaw. She was raised in Lafayette with her siblings, and it was there she met her husband of 49 years, Charles William Toman. She was a loving mother/grandmother and devoted wife, always putting family first in all she did. She was a Christian woman and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Indianapolis. Her joy in life was spending time with family. She cooked and baked many wonderful meals and desserts. She loved shopping, exploring new places and was an avid Colts and Pacers fan.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Toman; daughters Mary Toman, Tammy Toman and Melissa Farmer; grandson, Jack Farmer, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Gary Wagner; parents Gilbert and Katherine Shaw; brothers Gilbert, Carl and Floyd; sisters June, Esther, Leona and Lucille.
